New England matched their longest winning run from the Tom Brady era as they defeated division rivals the New York Jets 27-14 in the NFL

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson shone brightly with three scores as the New England squad claimed an eight-game winning streak for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in the 2019 season

Quarterback Drake Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a score, connecting on 25 of 34 passes

The triumph extends the New England's advantage at the top of the division as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the New York at the foot after falling to two wins and eight losses

The visitors had scored first at Gillette Stadium with QB Fields running in a short rushing score to cap the New York's opening drive

But the Patriots responded in the second quarter as the rookie scored two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third quarter to extend the lead to 21 to 7

"It was a key occasion for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback commented on the rookie. "He aims to be outstanding."

Justin Fields connected with Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales booted a pair of field goals in the final period as the Patriots sealed the win
